WAYS TO PLAY
Five game formats, four sports. Every league runs one format — here's what each one asks of you.
PICK 4 / ROLE-BASED
The signature OTL format
Pick 4 competitors and assign each a distinct role — every role scores differently, so mixing a favourite with a rank outsider is the whole game. The exact roles and how they score vary by sport and event.
Check each game’s page for the exact roles and scoring in play.
LAST MAN STANDING
Survive the gameweek
Pick one team to win each gameweek. Win and you survive to the next round. Draw, lose, or forget to pick and you’re out. You can’t reuse a team until you’ve been through all 20 — so plan your run carefully. Last player standing wins the round.
STANDARD
The classic OTL format
One pick per race across a meeting, scored on odds and finishing position. Simple, quick to learn, and the format OTL started with.
SWEEPSTAKE
Pure luck, zero skill
Classic pub sweepstake, digitised. The league admin triggers a random draw, runners are distributed evenly across members, and the draw is final — no re-draws, no swaps.
BUDGET
Spread it or send it
Split a notional 100-point budget across up to 4 runners. Your score reflects how you allocated it against each runner’s odds and finishing position — go all-in on a fancied favourite or spread your points across the field.
🏇 HORSE RACING EXTRAS
A few concepts that are specific to horse racing leagues — Standard, Sweepstake and Budget formats all draw on these.
Key Concepts
NAP
Your strongest pick of the day. If your NAP selection wins, you earn a 2× bonus on that score. Only applies to winners — no bonus for placed finishes.
Non-Runners
If your pick is withdrawn from the race, it may be replaced with the starting price favourite — or score zero, depending on your league.
Paying Places
Not just winners score. Depending on the number of runners, 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th place can earn points.
Try the Scoring
Adjust the controls and see how points are calculated
Score = decimal odds × position multiplier
6.0 (decimal odds) × 1 (1st multiplier) = 6.00 pts
Each league can customize these rules. Check your league's Rules tab for exact scoring.
FAQ
As many as you like. Each league can have its own scoring system and events.
Yes, up until the deadline. After that, they are locked in.
Automatically when results come in. Check the game's page for exact scoring.
No hard limit — the more the merrier.
Scoring rules are shown on each game's page — roles, points, bonuses and any custom tweaks the organiser made. For standard horse racing leagues, your league's Rules tab shows the specific scoring mode your league chose.
Yes. It's the same Pick 4 idea everywhere, but the specific roles and how they score are tailored to each sport — a golf role isn't scored the same as a football one. The game's page has the specifics.
